My Story

I am the proud mother of three amazing kids.  I have had the privilege of sharing thirteen years of my history with my amazing husband David. He has encouraged me to be the best person I can be.

I met my husband David at a restaurant in Solomon’s Island, MD. He was in the area on business. We were introduced by a mutual friend. We couldn’t stand one another.   But what is meant to be is meant to be. The following weekend we spent more time together and just clicked!  A week after that I met him in Orlando and we had our official first date at Sea World. Our second date was at the Magic Kingdom.  It has been a dream come true ever since.  We were married on August 11, 2012. We have three beautiful children, a dog, a hamster, six fish, and a green snake named Greg.

I received my undergraduate degree in Public Relations with a minor in Political Sciences from the University of West Florida.  I have dedicated my career to helping others, specifically in disease-related non-profits.  I have had the honor of working for amazing organizations like the American Cancer Society, the Scleroderma Foundation, the ALS Association, and the American Heart Association. To learn more about my professional career ad experience, please visit me on LinkedIn.

My inspiration for my platform was my grandfather, whom I call Pumpa, who suffered from Alzheimer’s for over seven years.  In March of 2012, I received devastating news.  My grandmother, Grammy (Pumpa’s wife) had suddenly passed away.  I was in disbelief because she seemed like a healthy woman and was only 73 years old. What was even more devastating was what Pumpa went through after she died.  He had difficulty remembering that she had passed away.  Every morning he would wake up and know that something was wrong.  It was a combined effort of my amazing aunts and uncles to explain to him what had happened to his wife of over 50 years.  During this time I started to understand the severity of his disease.  I knew that something had to be done to end Alzheimer’s.  It is there where my journey begins.   On February 12, 2015, Pumpa lost his battle with Alzheimer's.  To learn more about the life of this extraordinary man, or to make a donation in his name please visit www.alz.org
